The Little Bookroom

Ballarat is a town about 105 kilometres outside of Melbourne.  In 1851 someone found gold here, which started a gold rush so lot's more people came to live here and in 1871 it was officially made a city.  In 1854 there was an argument here called the “Eureka” uprising, which is really famous and they even made their own flag which is in the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery.  There are lot's of pretty old buildings here in Ballarat too, and this great statue of Queen Victoria.  They also have some yummy bakeries where you can buy lamingtons (my favourite!).
