Why predominately Australian?
Our business operates on the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung land of the Kulin Nation. Paying respect to the traditional owners of the land on which we work is part of our everyday practice.
Our ‘support local’ mindset is reflected in our choices for our subscriptions.
Besides, we’re spoiled for choice, we want to make our selections as diverse and exciting as we can. Our picture books selections will always only be Australian, occasionally we’ll branch out a bit with our fiction selections for a taste of what the rest world has to offer.
Will I know which books have been chosen ahead of ordering?
We want our subscribers to have the joy of surprise that often accompanies opening a gift. Until we send out the subscriptions, each new selection will remain a delightful secret.
I have an advanced reader. Which year level should I subscribe to?
We do our best to select books that are age appropriate in both reading level and content for each year group, with some selections for the younger years designed to be read together. If the book worm you’re buying for is voracious, you’re welcome to select the next age up with the knowledge that occasionally some titles may be more mature in content.
When can I unsubscribe?
At any time! This isn’t a marriage!
How do you send the parcels?
Wherever possible, we use Sendle as a door-to-door courier service to ensure speed and tracking of deliveries. Some locations, P.O. Boxes and parcel lockers require Australia Post.
What is your buying policy?
We endeavour to make sure the books we select are as new as possible, hopefully preempting your purchase of each wonderful book. If, however, you already own a copy of one of the books when it arrives, well done us for matching your taste! The nature of the subscription is a confirmed purchase, trusting our expertise. Please consider regifting it to another home who would appreciate its beauty. We love to think of these books making a journey out into the world and touching many lives and hearts.
